Malina Fagan is an investigative documentary filmmaker from the Big Island of Hawaii whose films on health, the environment and human empowerment have been seen by over a million people around the world and helped get legislation passed in Hawaii to ban sunscreens with oxybenzone. Her films have premiered in IMAX at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, aired on PBS, been featured by Upworthy, played on Hawaiian Airlines and been selected at film festivals across the country, winning awards for their cinematography and storytelling. She completed her studies in Film Production at Chapman University, where she participated in the highly selective “Community Voices” and “Destination Africa” program, which her film “Forest Keepers” won an ASC award for best cinematography in a documentary. Malina is currently working on her debut feature film called “THE COVERUP” on toxins in cosmetics and was selected for the Redford Center Grants and mentorship program.
